Many
Dispex Members will have read Dr. Anne Phillips’ ‘New
Doctor Dispenser Qualification’
article on the DDA website dated 2nd July, 2009.
Members should be reassured:-
- There
is no new
qualification as such,
but a significant enhancement to an existing one
- The
UKCES is an overarching body which authorises, facilitates
and licenses the existence of ‘Skills for Health’ which
is but one of the 25 Sector Skills Councils
- The
process referred to simply means
the long awaited modifications
to NVQ2 and NVQ3 are now approved and will manifest
themselves against the stated timescales
- It
seems that the new versions of the NVQ
level 3 qualification will indeed be transferable to
other areas of dispensing such as retail and/or hospital
pharmacy
- DD&P/Surelines
NVQ
will reflect all relevant modifications once the detail is
released to the educational providers
