2008
Evening Meetings
Following the
resounding success of previous National Lecture
Tours, Surelines have revised the Tour content
and are in the process of organising Round 5,
where we intend to hold many evening meetings
throughout the country. The tour creates a
platform for you to be involved with up to three
different talks, the focus of which are the most
current hot topics for dispensing practices; an
opportunity not to be missed. Several companies
have already expressed an interest to be
involved.
Who
Attends?
During
2005-2007 we have had over 2800 delegates
attend the National Lecture Tours,
consisting of GPs, Practice Managers,
Dispensary Managers, Audit and Dispensary
staff, and PCTs, with an average of 35
delegates attending each meeting.
What
Talks Are There?
Latest
Dispensary Issues– How Will They Affect Your
Practice?
The
meeting will mainly focus on ensuring
practices can maintain their efficiency,
alignment with their drug budget and
practice income with the recent well known
assaults on their income. The advice and
guidance is given against the backdrop of
increased pressure upon general medical
practice from their cash-strapped Primary
Care Organisations. Particular emphasis
will be placed on the Practice-PCO interface
and the probity for both parties of that
relationship.
You will
be aware there is currently an unprecedented
campaign by PCOs to reduce drug budget often
at the expense of Probity, Practice Income
and indeed the best clinical interest of
patients. Nigel as a leading medical legal
expert will point out the limits and
parameters of PCO influence on prescribing
matters.
Topics covered include;
Drug Switching
and Informed Consent, Pharmacy Regulations
and PCTs as applicable to Dispensing Doctors
and Physicians wishing to open a community
pharmacy, Prescribing, Probity and Profit in
collaboration with the PCT, Discount Review,
Proposed and Recent Changes including DSQS
update, Hints for VAT Compliance, Q&A
Session. Sponsors are also invited to
provide specific topics they would like
including in the talk.
Pharmacy
or Dispensing Doctor?
In light
with the recent proposed changes in the
Pharmacy White Paper and the Galbraith
Report, many dispensing practices are
considering their options of opening their
own Pharmacy. With Nigel’s expert advice,
practices will be able to make the right
decision for them.
Topics covered include;
Dispensing v
Pharmacy - the benefits, Why you should not
sell your dispensing, Benefits of owning
your own Pharmacy, Reserved Location, The
Pharmacy Application Process, 40 hour or 100
hour Pharmacy, SWOT Analysis Pharmacy, Other
Options Available, Q&A Session.
All talks
are constantly updated from presentation to
presentation, dependant on news and
information received of relevance to
practices and sponsors.
